Climate

The climate in Haiti is described as tropical savannah type, being semi-arid, since it is sheltered by mountains from precipitation brought in by trade winds. In Port-au-Prince temperatures range from 83 to 89 F°, and precipitation from 35 mm (1.38 in.) in January to 225 mm (8.85 in.) in mm in May. I would like to find data for Port de Paix, where we stayed for three weeks, but data is apparently not available for other cities.www.weather-and-climate.com.

By comparison, in Honolulu temperatures range from 65 to 88 F degrees and rainfall from 0.43 to 2.3 inches.

Accordingly, Haiti has more seasonality in terms of rainfall but even
less than Honolulu in terms of temperature.

Here is a link to the only map I could find of Haiti's climate.

Haiti is definitely in the tropical hurricane belt. We experienced a small one when we were there.
