Haiti is fairly arid with sparse vegetation shown on this map only in the hills. There is a fairly large lake, Étang Saumâtre, 175 sq km in size, in the long valley east of the Capital. The west end of the lake is said to be salty while the east contains fresh water. The largest river in Haiti is the Artibonite, which flows west through the Plaine de Artibonite to the coast from Lac de Péligre, in the east near the Dominican border.
Haiti is situated between an area of high pressure over the Appalachians, in North America, to the northwest and a low over South America, to the southeast.
Over North America there are several cold fronts bringing maritime polar in from the Aleutians and Canada to the Great Plains and Rocky Mountain states. There is a warm front moving north from Texas.
There is a stationary front bisecting the island of Hispaniola from the south west to the north east that continues as a cold front to the north and moving east. There is a 1012 mb isobar south of Haiti and a 1016 mb isobar just to the north.






Based on your 3 day weather forecast I can see see that both our capital cities can reach up to 91 degrees Fahrenheit. Although your capital city has significant signs of precipitation unlike mine which has none at all. In regards to your low and high pressures it looks like they are closer together than the ones found on my map. We also both have two stationary fronts on our zoomed out maps.
ReplyDeleteWow you have a large chance of rain in Haiti! Over in Kiribati we have very low chances at the moment. The average pressure was almost identical too. The reported highs are a little more hot than in kiribati while the lows hover in a similar area.
